Girls' Night Out
I have the privilege of having 3 sisters that I've grown to love. All of us are very different but somehow I feel that we could appreciate each other's diversities. So once in a while, we'll have the opportunity to meet up exclusively, without the spouses, the kids or our parents (haha). If my brother didn't have to open his old airport road pasta hawker stall, he would have been present, too.
Today's excuse to meet and dump all caretaking responsibilities to the husbands and our mother was one of my sister's leap year birthday. Tell you a secret, she's 10 years old tomorrow. Ahaha... :P
So, I arranged for a Japanese buffet dinner at Miramar Hotel's Ikoi Restaurant. We seldom celebrate our own birthdays anymore. We'd mostly do it for the kids and our parents. So since my this sister only really get to officially have hers once every 4 years, I thought it would be nice to do something. So I made reservations like 2 weeks ago.
I'm glad all of us managed to make time despite our busy schedule. We had a fabulous time. Lots of laughter and we all enjoyed each other's company.
Comments on the restaurant. The food's not as good as before. Although the place is still as popular and full even for weekdays, but the standard has dropped, though price has increased a little. $33+++ per pax. (Can't remember what's the 3rd '+' for.) They also keep forgetting our orders and we had to reorder to a point, we couldn't even remember what the outstanding orders were.
Seems that it's quite common for restaurants to have lowered standard when they become famous. Aston is another good example, but this I heard from friends' review after few visits. For me, I'd only been there once, so there's no basis for me to compare. I just know that the food wasn't that fantastic and felt that the whole thing's been overrated.
Anyways...early tomorrow morning, there's IKEA sale with a 2-hour preview for members. Now that I have the car, I'm going to see if I can get something I've been eyeing for at a good price.
Ciao!
