Walk-A-Lot Day
Went to the Singapore Zoo yesterday with Kenneth, Jing Ting, Li Hong, Hilyah, Raphael, Xueping and Huizhen. Thanks to Raphael, we got in for free.
It has been donkey years since I've been to the Zoo, so I was quite excited about it. And with the company of people I was going with, I was sure we were going to have a fun time...and indeed I wasn't disappointed.
The day before we planned to pack some food stuff so we don't have to eat from the expensive F&B outlets. We didn't want to end up like the day where TP Band performance was at Jurong Bird Park: Pau - $2; (soggy) Chicken Pie - $3.50; Hotdog - $6.50. Many people went hungry. Heart pain...
So, we packed lots of food which lasted us the whole trip and all the easterners met at Eunos MRT station before we head to Jurong East MRT station to meet Raphael. Here's a bad attempt to capture everyone on the train.
We then met Hilyah, the northerner at Choa Chu Kang MRT station and headed to the bus terminal to catch bus 927 to our destination.
Singapore Zoo hasn't changed much, I guess, though I must say I have a few new experiences. Maybe I've forgotten those I had in the way-back past, or maybe there were really new. All in all, I think we spent about 7 hours of walking and slacking in the compound. Before the animal activists think we're inhumane, the otters posing in the picture are not real. Kenneth's masterpiece, and perhaps idea of otters busking - balancing act.
After that, Jing Ting, Li Hong, Kenneth and myself travelled to Accent and then to VCH to watch a freaking 3-hour long concert. No comments on the concert but I had a headache when I got out. Maybe's the change in environment after being in the hall for too long. The row of people behind just couldn't stop talking...it was embarrassing for me to have to tell them not to. It was so annoying! Anyway, before VCH was dinner at Food Junction (Raffles City) and we walked to the concert hall. Then after the concert (before the encore) was another walk to Esplanade's Makansutra Gluttons Bay for supper. So much walking. I think I had enough of exercise to last me for a whole year. I was so sure that I won't be able to stand up straight this morning, but strangely, I'm getting ready to go to work now. Thank God.
Oh, another big one for Abba for giving us good weather for the Zoo trip yesterday. Absolutely no rain at the Zoo! And to know that the sky was so filled with dark clouds in the morning when I left home. Wow! I'm so amazed, and I give you praise!
