I Miss My Clarinet
Left it in the Band Room yesterday since we went back home real late after the mahjong session. I reckon that I won't have any energy to practice. Then today, with the last minute division lunch at A-Roy Thai along Siglap Road, I didn't get any clarineting time in this afternoon either. So with my "clever" movie plan I thought I might get a chance to practice after work. So I continued leaving it in the band room, and even left half of the aircon on.
But at the end of the day, I heard from Cat that Loi is coming to pick her to Vivocity! Such a coincidence lah! It was a lift not to be missed... After "clinching the deal", I realised the consequence of my action. But it's too late...not very nice if Loi had to drive me to TAC, do whatever I need to do, and move off again. So...now I'm home...without my clarinet, for one full day and night without practice!! Sob...
Anyway, on the way back to school after lunch, I dropped by Talent Music to pick up a couple of drum skins for Jamming Studio's drumset. I explored the small showroom and bought a few personal items:
1. Vandoren 8-Piece Reed Case
2. Clarinet Pin :P
3. Clarinet Stand
4. Bb Clarinet Essential Elements 2000 plus DVD (I'm glad Kenneth endorsed it)
Was tempted to get the leather ligature that Kenneth is using. But thought I should pass for now since it may not make a big difference to my sound with my level of technical proficiency. Forgot to get the table music stand though. Tsk...
Strangely, I took a bus back to TP from Talent. The strange thing at this stage of my life is - I took a bus. Anyway, met Raphael on the bus and walked with him into the Band Room. Wei Jie, Raz and Nicholas were there but they were just about to leave. I asked Raz to help me fix the drum skin. Thank God she was there to begin with. If I had taken a taxi, I would not have alighted at Lobby D. So, would have missed Raz totally. Oh well, the conclusion is, the tom skin is fixed, and I can loan it out to DES in peace tomorrow morning.
Enough of complaints...at least I get to see Kenneth, Jing Ting and Grace tonight at Vivocity. They were nice enough to travel all the way there from Orchard Le Meridien. Actually I forgot that we were supposed to watch POTC there... but we later agreed to watch it some day after the Jurong Bird Park performance. I gave them a treat to the ice cream fondue at Haagen Dazs. That was after our dinner at Carls Jr. Wah, super full! Cos my Superstar beef burger was so big lah... plus a "geh kiang" go and order the chilli beef cheese fries (can't remember the exact name). Still drink the ice cappucino! Oh well, I did enjoy myself lah...hope the rest felt the same way.
Took 30 to Bedok Interchange with Kenneth and Jing Ting. Grace took the train.
Oh, oh, oh...before I end this entry. I have to say this! I'm able to go for Philharmonic Wind Concert at Esplanade le! Cos Worship Rehearsal has been changed to 9.30am due to Gen event at 4pm. Kenneth helped me to go online and booked the tickets at SISTIC using Visa. So fun! I'm so looking forward to it. Kenneth says we're getting good seats for the cheapest tickets of $12. Hope it's really going to be good seats. Don't care...so happy, cos it's like a bonus thing for the weekend. Yipee!!!
PS: Hope every of the band member who went for the Esplanande interview gets the job...and that their duty won't clash with band prac.
