White Files Are Nice
I think they're really classy, those white clear folder files. All 90 of them were delivered to the Band Room at around 11.20am (060607).
Managed to settle the transport for bus and truck for the Jurong Bird Park performance. Phew! New vendor...Ming Yu Jiang Express, recommended by Kenneth. Mr See is the boss with an assistant called Grace.
Had a chance to do some clarineting this afternoon after lunching with Cat. Thought I'd do just half an hour cos that's what was left of my lunch hour (ate at about 1.30pm). When I reached the studio, I ended up fixing keys: put all the instrument cupboard keys into a big cue card ring (they look like jailer's bunch of keys now); ring up the noticeboard key and added it to the bunch of keys; added colour key caps to the QM cabinet key (green) and scores library cabinet key (blue). Now the Studio 1 key would look the most happening in the SAA keypress. Colour-coding...adds freshness and variety to life. In other words, another form of cheap thrills :)
Anyway, I was left with like 5 mins to the half-hour break. Quickly fixed up my clarinet to play BRS with the music playing from my mobile. During the short piece, my phone either rang or beeped so many times that the entire practice lasted 15mins. Cat suddenly came in and asked for my help to wait for the piano guy in studio 6 to finish his tuning job. I happy only lah, cos can continue to play. Was supposed to meet Weijie and Grace at 3pm to discuss camp programme anyway, so I told them to come over the studio instead.
The tuning guy called at 3.50pm. I went over to sign the invoice and lock up the studio. The piano needs to install new heating bar. The current one is faulty. Rush back to office for 4pm assets meeting.
Kenneth came back from his field trip and came to my office to do up the labels for the new files. Really cool with the band logo and section names printed on the expensive translucent labels. They are supposed to be pasted on the bottom right hand corner of the file covers.
When Jing Ting came back from her interview at Esplanade, all of us (including Nicholas Soh and Wei Jie) went oppposite to eat. Before we finished our food, Kenneth indicated an interest to go back and finish off with the label pasting. We did. After we were done pasting, we proceeded to play mahjong card. The usual 3...the other 2 were not interested and left after a while. We played till about 11.30pm and left for home.
We always had fun playing mahjong. Cards or tiles. It's the process of the game and the conversations (and silly gestures) we have during the game that's enjoyable.
Well, let's just hope that we won't be addicted to it...haha! Have been playing a lot of it - more than I have half my life. The cards really made it convenient and quiet.
Tomorrow (I mean, this evening), we're planning to watch Pirates 3 at Vivocity. Hmmm...may not go in the end...won't be the same without you leh. See how lur...
My shin is swelling up again. This time on my right leg.
