Mission Surprise
We all hid inside the music room, waiting for the folks at my mom's Church to come down from their Hokkien Service for their refreshment. When she was spotted, we brought out the birthday cake, and sang her a birthday song, all 13 of us, children, children-in-law and grandchildren. She just stood there and cried. Awww...
After that, when we managed to find a box of matches to light the candle on the cake (lol), all her Church mates joined in to sing the birthday song again. After she blew out the candle, her Pastor prayed for her.
After all is said and done, and everybody ate the cake, the kueys and the shou taos, we headed to David's pasta stall at Old Airport Road so that he and Pam will not be left out of the gathering.
So Mission Surprise was a success! Haha... It was our way of honouring the superhero of our lives, especially for me and my siblings.
I love my mom. I thank God constantly for her and the things she has done for me and the family. I'm really thankful that God answered my prayer for her salvation. For that, I will be eternally grateful.
PS: Me and 2 nephews were early for the kuey collection so I gave them (and myself) a treat to Eng's wanton mee. Haha... After visiting David's stall, I decided to go for a 3rd round of the wanton mee so I 'ta-pao' a few packs on the way to Mui's. Wah...shiok, man!
