Crab Cheeks

It's my first time at the Singapore Flyer today, no rides for me though. $29.50 eh! So expensive. Anyway, no time. Was there for work. Brought my Latinos performer to 'rah-rah' the >60 booth to launch their Fitto Fun product - a PC cam game for the elderly - officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister. Oh ya, it's Grandparents' Day today, in case you're not aware.

It was so hot, I tell you, but thank God it didn't rain. Otherwise, it would be quite a sad case for all the booths and certainly the day's programme. By the time we're done with what we were there to do, my cheeks were red like steamed crab - red and shiny. I was so thirsty I down-ed like one Super Big Gulp.

Catherine was there to support, as usual. We had our lunch there. Couldn't resist the fried chicken smell from Popeyes'. Managed to eat the biscuit this time. It was more like fluffy scones, really, and it's savoury, too. If I had known it was some sweet pastries, I would have asked Catherine to get a dozen for me. Too many people in the queue and the bus was almost there to pick us up. Next time, I guess.

As I was writing this, I decided to do a little googling and I found out that the other cartoon character, Olive's full name is Olive Oyl -.- I never knew that... Anyway, Popeye is what I always associated spinach with, and as a kid, I was proud to learn that spinach was one of the vegetables that I really liked, and still do. I think it's an attempt by its creator to encourage kids to eat vegetables. At least I bought into it. Ahaha...Popeye's the same cartoon that gives me the impression that 'Bluto' is a name for bullies - he's always trying to kidnap Olive. The power of the media. Oh, and I suspect that Popeye's name may have something to do either with his one eye that's closed all the time or the only one that opens...hmmm... Maybe the closed one had popped out? Eee...gross!

Anyway, it was 3rd Service (aka Youth Service) after that, since I missed the 2 main services in the morning. Now I know they actually play music when they get the newcomers to stand up. Haha...reminds me of some TV game show but it makes a happening moment. Saw a couple of the Geners worship vocalists/leaders who used to serve in the main service Choir on stage. So happy to see them doing well.

Hmmm...it feels good to sleep early. I think I should seriously make time to do that more often. Slept around 10.30pm last night. Still felt a bit tired from the early morning, but it was not as bad as the usual mornings. I think I better change my phone alarm ringtone. I'm not at all affected by the current one anymore.
